Dr. Shereen Morse (she/her) specializes in treating anxiety-related disorders and believes in the Health At Every Size, HAES®, model when providing health care. She is experienced in providing evidence-based cognitive and behavioral therapy and is IOCDF* trained in exposure and response prevention--an evidence based treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
She started her private practice in 2006 out of a desire to provide patients with treatment outside of the limitations of a hospital setting. She has the flexibility to spend more time with her patients than she might working in a hospital.. By providing both medication management, when it is necessary, and psychotherapy, she gets to know a patient's whole story. She is able to adapt their total care over time which can make for better and more convenient care for her patients. Through UW she is involved in supervising and mentoring physicians-in-training. She has spoken internationally about the importance of providing culturally competent care and has taught clinicians about medication management strategies for treating OCD symptoms through the International OCD Foundation's Behavioral Therapy Training Institute. Dr. Morse is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Washington (UW). She has had an affiliation with UW since relocating from New York City, NY in 2004. A proponent of using the arts to facilitate recovery, Dr. Morse can be found volunteering her time to ComedySportz Seattle. There she helps run an Improv for Anxiety workshop, pulling from both her skills as a therapist and an improvisational theater performer.
Dr. Morse is also a Vinyasa and Gentle yoga instructor. She believes all bodies are yoga bodies. *International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation |
